I have started thinking that I may include some time-lapse footage in my university final major project. First step of course is learning exactly how to capture this type of footage.

I spent much of the weekend just gone experimenting with a Nikon D300 DSLR and here are the results.

The subject matter isn’t massively entertaining, although I do have a soft spot for shooting traffic at night with super long shutter speeds, however, I am pretty happy that I have a grasp of the basic technique in order to move forward.

One thing I will need to gain an understanding of is batch processing images in photoshop so that I can crop and resize the images into traditional movie dimensions rather then the slightly odd square shape I have above.

Maybe next week I will attempt an early morning shoot to capture the sunrise.
